This is likely not a bug at all but a limitation of the hardware you are
driving it from or the cable you are using. 2560x1600 requires you to be
using a dual-link DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort connection. Check that your
display adapter is capable of dual-link, you are using a dual-link
enabled port on the display adapter, and you are using a dual-link
cable.
The current Nouveau is running the Dell at its native 2560x1600.
The other display problems I've reported seem to have gone away
when Nouveau started working properly.
There have been some stability issues in networking and dhcp.
