The old-school dodge for this was 'rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*' then 'rpm
--rebuilddb'. I am, of course, not responsible for data loss, emotional
or physical pain, unexpected pregnancy or the end of this and/or any
other universe which may result ;)
