-------- Original Message -------- Subject: 17 Beta-RC3 netinst.iso in vbox fails Date: Thu, 05 Apr 2012 01:28:23 -0400 From: G.Wolfe Woodbury <redwolfe@xxxxxxxxx> To: Testing Fedora Technologies <test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Trying to do a test install of F17 in VirtualBox the Beta-RC3 netinst.iso (and the development/17/x86_64/os/images/boot.iso) fail in a wierd way. Adding "inst,repo=http://wolves.private/pub/fedora/linux/development/17/x86_64/os" to the boot command brings up the installer and it goes through the disk setup. After confirming the "write to disk" it creates the devices, and starts to make the filesystems. In the middle of the 2nd mkfs the screen freezes. Examining the various VTs shows that the mkfs finishes for all the partitions, but it won't proceed into the select repo phase since the screen is frozen. There doesn't seem to be an entry in the Test Matrix for verifying the netinst.iso or boot.iso (or for installing in a virtual guest). Just posting so someone will see the problem.
