Hello, all you happy people, sudo yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update polkit on F16 x86-64 pulls in both polkit.i686 0:0.103-1.fc16 and polkit.x86_64 0:0.103-1.fc16, and the i686 package pulls in a whole load of i686 dependencies on a 64-bit only install. This would appear to be https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=761270 (which is about the same situation in rawhide last December), which has a last comment of > I’m not sure how you’d go about making this not happen, but it’s > obviously not desired. It’s a yum problem… see bug 667984 comment 3 (python-argparse was noarch, where python is not) and bug 667984 implies that yum will do this in this situation, and there’s no clean way around it. But the last comment on that bug that wasn’t a ping is over a year ago. What’s best practice for a tester in this situation? All the bugs have been filed already.
