Do the steps at: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upgrading_Fedora_using_yum#Fedora_16_-.3E_Fedora_17 basically: yum update rpm dracut dracut --force --add convertfs change 'ro' to 'rw' in your kernel entry in /etc/grub2.cfg. add 'rd.info rd.convertfs enforcing=0' to your kernel entry in /etc/grub2.cfg. reboot and watch dracut convert optionally 'fixfiles onboot' reboot profit kevin
