Works fine here:

[adamw@adam X]$ ls -l
total 2788
-rw-r--r--. 1 adamw adamw   33081 Oct 20 10:05 Asturias.html
-rwxrwxr-x. 1 adamw adamw 2816259 Oct 20 10:05 Schulmeister.ogg

'firefox A<tab>' and 'firefox S<tab>' both expand as expected.
