It was found that gdk-pixbuf GIF image loader gdk_pixbuf__gif_image_load() routine did not properly handle certain return values from their subroutines. A remote attacker could provide a specially-crafted GIF image, which once opened in an application, linked against gdk-pixbuf would lead to gdk-pixbuf to return partially initialized pixbuf structure, possibly having huge width and height, leading to that particular application termination due excessive memory use.
The CVE identifier of CVE-2011-2485 has been assigned to this issue.

Update Information:
This is an upgrade from Audacious 2.4.5 to the current stable release 2.5.2 in order to benefit from improvements and additional bug-fixes not limited to the linked ticket numbers.
Due to a Generic Plugin ABI/API change in the 2.5 series, all plugin packages need an update as well.
If you use Audacious in conjunction with 3rd party plugin packages, you won't be able to install this upgrade as long as any of your installed plugin packages have not been updated appropriately. There will be RPM dependency errors if you try to. Please don't complain about that. They are a good thing.
