And you feel OK about other scripts on your system silently losing changes because they're outside of /etc? init script placement in /etc always seemed funny to me, these are scripts to be executed, not files to be configured. Just because they live in /etc shouldn't give them any special treatment over any other script that may live in /usr I'd prefer if init scripts didn't live in /etc at all, or were symlinked into /etc for compat purposes, but that's a larger change than I want to push right now. -- Jesse Keating Release Engineer: Fedora
