Please be sure to bump the release when you change the package; otherwise browser caching leads to all sorts of confusion. If there's really no web site for the project, then a git repo is as good as anything else. What's really important is that the Source: lines are URLs wherever possible, so that we can have some external location to compare against. As for rpmlint, you should run it against the src.rpm, the build binary (or noarch) rpms, and then install the package and run "rpmlint packagename" to get the full set of complaints.
