Summary: Review Request: zenoss - The Open Source Network Management System https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=435470 jonathansteffan@xxxxxxxxx changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |jonathansteffan@xxxxxxxxx ------- Additional Comments From jonathansteffan@xxxxxxxxx 2008-02-29 12:05 EST ------- You should push your patches for: * MySQL-python-1.2.0 * Python-2.4.4 * Twisted-2.5.0 * ctypes-1.0.1 * epydoc-3.0beta1 * pycrypto-1.9a6 * pyip-0.7 * rrdtool-1.2.26 to upstream ;-) Though, I think python 2.4.x will get no more updates from upstream, so that might be the same for the other packages. I've looked at and used zenoss for a little while (and looked into some of the cool Zope stuff it does) but don't have it in production. If I had access to packages, I'd most likely have it in production. I agree with kagesenshi that the best place for the stack is going to be 3rd party, unless you are able to merge your patches upstream or publish clean patches that can be applied to an upstream source tar and then listed in the spec while, of course, not breaking anything. I would, however, enjoy seeing zenoss in the [default] fedora repos. I don't know about it actually happening with patched (and unreleased?) packages and lack of py2.4 support. Zenoss has a unique situation, due to being in the RHX, where they might be able to poke contacts to get python 2.4 support. I will note I brought this up at the last RH Summit and knew this day would come at some point. As I use Zope/Plone extensively, there are python 2.4 packages @ Livna right now. I have to add a few more xml related packages and setuptools here soon but it supports Zope <= 2.10.5 ( I should say versions that run on py2.4 ). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. _______________________________________________ Fedora-package-review mailing list Fedora-package-review@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-package-review
