After asking in devel list, I've got to install the package first, then run rpmlint -i on the installed package. When I do that, I now see the undefined-non-weak-symbol warnings for the older php-pecl-redis5 package... so this problem has indeed been around a while. Do you recall if this was mentioned during the php-pecl-redis5 review?
