I'm not sure why that is happening; the above SRPM includes
tokio-serde-fix-metadata.diff with the content:

and build.log from mockbuild on my environment contains:

however, indeed, the copr build above doesn't seem to apply the patch.  Let me
try again with a newly created SRPM below.
