Previously in comment 18 I mentioned implementing python3-libqtile and python3-libqtile+wayland subpackages. This would prevent the need to manually keep the wayland dependencies in sync with upstream. Separate from that PR, here is a commit with a possible implementation of those subpackages, as well as a qtile-wayland subpackage to make it obvious for users on how to opt-in. If you like this, I can send it as a PR as well.
