The MPI packages should be separate.  OpenMPI and MPICH cannot be loaded at the
same time.
Not everybody may want to use the MPI transport. So it is good to have 3
separate packages,
one without MPI, one with the OpenMPI implementation of MPI and a third with
the MPICH
implementation of MPI. See:

If you have a patch for OpenSSL, that would be great, but not essential.
