ok, thats due to things not building with the correct compiler flags. ;( 

In f36+ thats fixed automatically by
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/SetBuildFlagsBuildCheck 
but in older releases it's not there. 

Adding: 

export CFLAGS="%{optflags}"

before the make calls fixes it here. Or you could try and use %make_build and
%make_install macros. I tried that at first and they didn't seem to pass things
correctly, but you might give it a try and see if you can get them to work.
