https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2054708 --- Comment #6 from Kaleb KEITHLEY <kkeithle@xxxxxxxxxx> --- (In reply to Neal Gompa from comment #5) > The plasma-* subpackages conflict with KDE software in Fedora. What should > we do here? What's your definition of conflict? someone might look at the names and mistakenly assume the libarrow plasma-* packages are part of kde, but there are no actual collisions in the names. These are the names the Apache people chose when they packaged them at https://apache.jfrog.io/ui/native/arrow/centos/8/x86_64/Packages/ and https://apache.jfrog.io/ui/native/arrow/centos/8/Source/SPackages/ (And obviously they didn't consult with Fedora or KDE when they chose them.) I have no particular attachment to any of the names they chose. They could just as easily be libarrow-plasma-* (and libarrow-parquet-*) AFAIC, apart from the fact that people who are already consuming libarrow have been using them by the names they have now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
