https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1999406 Bug ID: 1999406 Summary: Review Request: python-nest-asyncio - Patch asyncio to allow nested event loops Product: Fedora Version: rawhide Hardware: All OS: Linux Status: NEW Component: Package Review Severity: medium Priority: medium Assignee: nobody@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Reporter: lbalhar@xxxxxxxxxx QA Contact: extras-qa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CC: package-review@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Target Milestone: --- Classification: Fedora Spec URL: https://lbalhar.fedorapeople.org/python-nest-asyncio.spec SRPM URL: https://lbalhar.fedorapeople.org/python-nest-asyncio-1.5.1-1.fc34.src.rpm Description: By design asyncio does not allow its event loop to be nested. This presents a practical problem: When in an environment where the event loop is already running it's impossible to run tasks and wait for the result. Trying to do so will give the error "RuntimeError: This event loop is already running". The issue pops up in various environments, such as web servers, GUI applications and in Jupyter notebooks. This module patches asyncio to allow nested use of asyncio.run and loop.run_until_complete. Fedora Account System Username: lbalhar This package is a new dependency of jupyter-client.
