Once you try it on hpe-mantis-01 (the external host machine) and see the same error messages, you could check the Linux configuration CONFIG_CUSE (see below) to see whether it's enabled or not. The user-space driver relies on it to create the /dev/rshimX/. It's usually enabled by default in centos, ubuntu, and default arm64 config. But I am not sure the kernel configuration you're using.
