I just checked and xz is supported. xz -9 vector_deps-2.0.0-beta.1.tar
results in an 18MB file, which is much more tolerable!

And using this as Source1 seems to work without any additional build deps:

Source1:        vector_deps-%{vector_version}.tar.xz
