To make sure we are looking at the same thing, this is what I see in the spec file: %build %configure --with-audit make CFLAGS="%{optflags}" %{?_smp_mflags} %install make DESTDIR="${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}" INSTALL='install -p' install There is no %{buildroot} anywhere. It only uses ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}. Will check on the fsf address.
