I've managed to bury comments while I was on holiday. I'm quite familiar with the history, but I wanted comments from Orion specifically as an FPC person. I don't see why it is confusing to change the basis any more than it was from the Sun distribution. As far as I know, SGE is sufficiently compatible that you could do an online upgrade, although there's a fundamental problem with upgrading tightly coupled distributed systems like this. If that's not so, it's probably possible to fix the issue simply. The current distribution should at least be retired for security reasons.
