While /var/lib/zoneminder is properly owned by the apache user, the directories within it (events, images, temp) are not. I'm not sure images/ is critical (does it need to write there?), but I KNOW events/ and temp/ should be owned by the user zoneminder is running as (apache), else it can't save event data or generate zip files. I'd appreciate this being addressed, as it adds a step after installation (chown ...) that really shouldn't be necessary.
