Even though I think the changes are ok, I guess we should see a new formal review for it... While we're at it could you upgrade the spec to 1.0.0 ? I rebuilt your borgbackup on EL7 with a few changes (upgraded to 1.0.0 though) and it seems to work fine (didn't build the docs, no coverage tests). So that's a thing you might want to look into.
