Hm, correct. The guidelines say [1] that "Python3 should be used in F22 and
later if supported by upstream. Transitioning from python2 to python3 is left
to individual package maintainers".

I too think that python3 should be used with strong preference, unless there
are known issues not present in the python2 version.
