Just for the record:
The api of openweathermap.org is under CC BY-SA and should therefore be
acceptable.
Whether the license of forecast.io's api is acceptable is beyond my knowledge
(I'm not a lawyer):

The nominatim service I use is the one provided by
http://open.mapquestapi.com/nominatim/ .
I'm not sure if it is acceptable.
If not and that would be the only reason for abandoning the package I probably
can use my own server for the nominatim part of my extension (that depends on
the requirements).
