Surprisingly, my solution is even 'conflicting' with Debian ;) You could choose another prefix like 'dateutils-', or something shorter even. But it will confuse guys who just wanna use it, and also upstream, too. I don't have experience with handling conflicting binary names in Fedora, as anything with such name conflicts would be a vexed problem...
