So... this is starting to look good.

Add BR and R: java-base64 >= 2.3.8-7

Why this:
  Requires(post):   chkconfig
  Requires(preun):  chkconfig

Change systemd-units to systemd in the requirements.

Still valid:

The daemon creates /data/elasticsearch. It should use /var/lib/elasticsearch
instead.

The daemon should run under its own user. See
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:UsersAndGroups#Dynamic_allocation for
the setup. /var/lib/elasticsearch has to be owned by this user.
