I think the concern in comment 3, which I share, is that while there are no other users of surf in Fedora *right now*, we can't be sure there won't be any more in the future. So tying surf to Singular feels wrong. I think the package should have a more general name, as well as the binary. I'm sorry about the necessity of patching Singular to make it use the right binary name, but that does appear necessary at this point.
