But anything is fine. - and while I am not sure, I looked at another package ( smolt ) that also place something in /etc/cron.d, and it doesn't reload crond. I just tested with : echo '* * * * * root touch /tmp/tralala' > /etc/cron.d/gunther , and the file appear without me reloading cron on Fedora 17.
