The magic you do with /etc/profile.d is... not really acceptable. For one, it doesn't work with csh/tcsh. For another, it's a pretty rare occurrence for any package to need to modify the path. I'm really not understanding what is so special about this package. If this is just a collection of scripts, package them properly into /usr/bin.
