As am I, > honestly. Perhaps I didn't chose my words carefully enough though, please put that on account of me not being a native english speaker and allow me to rephrase: I only depend on this package being in EPEL6, so I have a particular interest for this branch. In other words, that is a positive statement about the EPEL6 branch, it is not a negative statement about the Fedora ones. I will take care of this packages in all the branches it has been pushed to, but as a maintainer, I have always thought I had the right to decide in which branch I would push my package. > EPEL is supposed to be an easy way to get Fedora packages on RHEL, > but statements such at that make it seem that Fedora is merely an annoyance > required to get things into EPEL. That's not the case. In the past I have only ever contributed to Fedora, since I have never needed anything in EPEL. But if someone had asked me to push one of my packages to EPEL (and if I had the required amount of time to take care of it afterwards), then I would have. This time, it is the other way around: I only need this package in EPEL6, but I will take care of it in Fedora as well. Actually, if Ralf's (or anyone else's for that matter) initial comment had been  I'd like to see this package in Fedora 14 as well, and will help you maintain it in this branch Â, then I would have asked for it and set him as co-maintainer. I would even have made the initial builds and update requests, since I was doing all that for Rawhide and EPEL6 anyway, and we'd have coordinated the next builds/updates, as is certainly the case for any package maintained by more than one person. But you'll agree that it would have been a very different request from  I don't consider it reasonable Â, which (at least to me) sounds more like  you will do all the work because I say so Â. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ package-review mailing list package-review@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/package-review
