I agree, I have updated it to the current release:

I don't think they are an exception. A lot of project are of the opinion that
the best way to distribute software is a build directly from them, ideally with
all approved versions of libraries bundled.

Thanks, me too. As I mentioned above, this review request has brought some
other packages into Fedora so it is a win anyway. I understand that it is a
difficult beast and maybe not with a big audience.
