>From that note it's possible that the mongo shell and any other utilities not
in the mongodb-server subpackage could be compiled on ppc and we'd just want to
conditionalize that subpackage.  I'm not sure how the upstream buildscripts
will handle that, though (I have just looked at the docs, not the package).

I have no information on whether upstream would be receptive to a patch that
fixes issues on big-endian architectures.
