Sorry for the extremely slow response. I took most of your suggestions and added them to the SPEC file. A couple things. 1) I left the generated libraries in /usr/lib, it looks like one of your additions was trying to move them into /usr/lib/dcmtk. Any particular reason to do this? 2) Regarding your suggestions #13-15, I didn't understand what you were trying to accomplish with these changes. Regarding getting proper sonames for the libraries... not sure how to do that easily. DCMTK doesn't use libtool, so they're not autogenerated. Converting DCMTK to libtool would be a major undertaking. It it valid to just use some shell scripting to rename the current library.so files to library.so.3.5.4 and generate the appropriate symbolic links? Also, should the libraries be stripped... and if so, how does one generate the correct information to make a relevant dcmtk-libs-debuginfo rpm?
