Unfortunately, what you're asking is much more complicated than you might
realize. Traditionally Songbird comes with it's own hacked and patched
gstreamer and plugins. So you can't just point it at the proper place,
gstreamer/songbird both have to be recompiled properly.

We've been able to get away with using the system supplied gstreamer in the
past, but this latest release is just can't handle it on many systems.

It does in fact work great on fully vanilla i686/x86_64 installs that are fully
patched, but most people's systems are not that. I had my own issues using an
install that I had upgrade F10->F11->F12, the gconf files were all wrong and
songbird was pissed.

It's not just this package though, go try and run the Songburd supplied binary
off their website on F12. I believe it crashes on stock systems without the
write variables. *sigh*
