These are designed to make you aware of something, without interrupting your work with a window you must close. Hello, I packaged notify-osd for Fedora and encounter a problem : notification-daemon already create the dbus service file. Then I repackaged notification-daemon and notify-osd to use alternatives on this file (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=559303). I'm also searching a sponsor because these packages (libmpdclient, ario, notification-daemon, notify-osd) are my first ones. They work on my own Fedora system and pass the rpmlint test : $ rpmlint **/notify-osd*.(rpm|spec) notify-osd.x86_64: W: obsolete-not-provided notify-daemon SPECS/notify-osd.spec:17: W: unversioned-explicit-provides desktop-notification-daemon SPECS/notify-osd.spec:36: W: unversioned-explicit-obsoletes notify-daemon notify-osd.src:17: W: unversioned-explicit-provides desktop-notification-daemon notify-osd.src:36: W: unversioned-explicit-obsoletes notify-daemon 3 packages and 1 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 5 warnings.
