I think, the "rear mkrpm" thing can easily solved with some RPM macros inside of the spec file which do just the right thing, if it is executed on Fedora and/or RHEL. Would that be acceptable for you? E.g. %if 0%{?fedora}%{?rhel} rm -f unwanted-file-at-fedora %endif Or %if 0%{?fedora}%{?rhel} # Fedora specific stuff %else # Other distribution stuff %endif If that's okay, I would try to provide you a working example.
