Moreover, it's already there, why remove it now... Just for information, Amanda is supposed to be capable of working with various versions. In our environment, we have machines running CentOS 3 (including the Amanda server), 4, and 5. Updating Amanda on the older machines isn't likely to happen until the machines are replaced or reinstalled unless there's a really good reason to do so. I suspect that other users may have even more heterogenous libraries.
