Instead of saying "legally challenged upstream" tell me excatly what you believe the problem is with ntop. I will seek some clarification from Luca. But at the end of the day though, the application is licensed under the terms and conditions of the GPL. How the author reads the GPL is kind of irrelevent IMO.
