-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2025-0a780eb540 2025-03-14 04:38:00.634576+00:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name : glibc Product : Fedora 41 Version : 2.40 Release : 23.fc41 URL : http://www.gnu.org/software/glibc/ Summary : The GNU libc libraries Description : The glibc package contains standard libraries which are used by multiple programs on the system. In order to save disk space and memory, as well as to make upgrading easier, common system code is kept in one place and shared between programs. This particular package contains the most important sets of shared libraries: the standard C library and the standard math library. Without these two libraries, a Linux system will not function. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: The glibc-2.40-22.fc41 may produce binaries which do not run correctly on glibc-2.40-21.fc41 and earlier versions if source code uses PTHREAD_COND_INITIALIZER (swbz#32786). Furthermore, use of pthread_cond_t may result in spurious ABI difference warnings. This update changes PTHREAD_COND_INITIALIZER and pthread_cond_t back to the previous definition. As in the glibc-2.40-21.fc41 update, process-shared condition variables need to be reinitialized. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Thu Mar 13 2025 Florian Weimer <fweimer@xxxxxxxxxx> - 2.40-23 - PTHREAD_COND_INITIALIZER compatibility with previous glibc versions (#1889892) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #1889892 - glibc: pthread_cond_wait missed wakeup (swbz#25847) https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1889892 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program.
