-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2024-18e117a5f3 2024-07-10 01:54:04.562954 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name : picocom Product : Fedora 40 Version : 2023.04 Release : 1.fc40 URL : https://gitlab.com/wsakernel/picocom/ Summary : Minimal serial communications program Description : As its name suggests, [picocom] is a minimal dumb-terminal emulation program. It is, in principle, very much like minicom, only it's "pico" instead of "mini"! It was designed to serve as a simple, manual, modem configuration, testing, and debugging tool. It has also served (quite well) as a low-tech "terminal-window" to allow operator intervention in PPP connection scripts (something like the ms-windows "open terminal window before / after dialing" feature). It could also prove useful in many other similar tasks. It is ideal for embedded systems since its memory footprint is minimal (less than 20K, when stripped). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Update to fork version with various small fixes and also enable custom baud rate. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Sun Jun 30 2024 Kevin Fenzi <kevin@xxxxxxxxx> - 2023.04-1 - Switch to new fork, update to new version scheme ( rhbz#2256866 ) - Enable custom baud rate ( rhbz#2294619 ) - Convert to SPDX license identifier -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #2294619 - Support for custom baudrate not available in picocom-3.1-16.fc40.aarch64(is available in picocom-3.1-16.fc40.x86_64) https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2294619 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program.
