-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2023-1ddc27073f 2023-11-03 18:20:20.955080 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name : krb5 Product : Fedora 39 Version : 1.21.2 Release : 2.fc39 URL : https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/www/ Summary : The Kerberos network authentication system Description : Kerberos V5 is a trusted-third-party network authentication system, which can improve your network's security by eliminating the insecure practice of sending passwords over the network in unencrypted form. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: This is a backport of the [krb5#1306](https://github.com/krb5/krb5/pull/1306) upstream pull request. It includes fixes for numerous memory leaks. Most of them were affecting command line tools, but a few of them were affecting the following libraries and daemons: * kpropd (check for authorized principal) * GSSAPI (credentials export and validation) * kadmin server (master key initialization) * ccache (KCM entry access and configuration fetching) * keytab (entry access) * LDAP KDB plugin (realm deletion) None of these leaks introduces a security risk. This update also modifies the License tag in the specfile to use SPDX license identifiers. Nonetheless, this tag cannot be concisered fully accurate at this point. Some of MIT krb5's licenses seem to not be references by the SPDX standard. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Tue Oct 10 2023 Julien Rische <jrische@xxxxxxxxxx> - 1.21.2-2 - Use SPDX expression for license tag - Fix unimportant memory leaks Resolves: rhbz#2223274 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #2223274 - Fix 60 memory leaks [rawhide] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2223274 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program.
