-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2023-fb7fed52b8 2023-07-23 01:27:02.653919 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name : tcpcrypt Product : Fedora 38 Version : 0.5 Release : 12.fc38 URL : http://tcpcrypt.org/ Summary : Opportunistically encrypt TCP connections Description : Provides a protocol that attempts to encrypt (almost) all of your network traffic. Unlike other security mechanisms, Tcpcrypt works out of the box: it requires no configuration, no changes to applications, and your network connections will continue to work even if the remote end does not support -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: This update removes the attempt at firewalld integration for tcpcrypt. It has never been valid configuration, and so has never worked. Older versions of firewalld ignored the invalid configuration; more recent ones fail to start when it is present, so tcpcrypt effectively broke firewalld. The update also removes bashisms from the `tcpcryptd-firewall` script, so it will work with other shells. Thanks to Robert Fairbrother and others for reporting this, and to Eric Garver for providing the fixes. Apologies for the lateness of the fix. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Thu Feb 23 2023 Eric Garver <eric@xxxxxxxxxxx> - 0.5-12 - remove bash-isms from tcpcryptd-firewall * Thu Feb 23 2023 Eric Garver <eric@xxxxxxxxxxx> - 0.5-11 - remove broken firewalld service definition -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #1502646 - tcpcrypt firewalld rules break https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1502646 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program.
