I think you'll find that everything is there in the tarball of the src rpm :

$ yumdownloader --source alsa-utils
..
$ rpm -ivh alsa-utils-1.0.24.1-3.fc15.src.rpm

$ rpmbuild -bp ~/rpmbuild/SPECS/alsa-utils.spec

$  ls -al ~/rpmbuild/BUILD/alsa-utils-1.0.24.1/*|grep amidi
/home/bsjones/rpmbuild/BUILD/alsa-utils-1.0.24.1/amidi:
-rw-r--r--.  1 bsjones bsjones  3372 Jan 28 22:03 amidi.1
-rw-r--r--.  1 bsjones bsjones 14079 Jan 28 22:03 amidi.c
