Does this only happen with Jack?

When I built Audacity before I used a newer portaudio version than the
one that comes with Audacity itself and that got me better Jack support
(looks like the current Fedora Extras version does not do that). Still,
Audacity is a pretty bad Jack client, it would really need a native Jack
driver instead of just using portaudio.
