Hi all! Thanks Hesam for putting together these ideas. I think this is a
great start. My feedback can be summarized in three points:

1. Automation is good, but keep it human
2. Connect good ideas to sub-projects / teams for collaboration
3. Highlight existing contribution opportunities

== Automated communication

I like automating regular announcements or introductions. This is a lot
of work for individual people and responses to introductions usually
include the same information across replies.

However, it is important to keep a human aspect. Automating "people
tasks" comes at a risk of being too impersonal. When someone first joins
a community, asking questions in a group chat or mailing list is
intimidating. So, automated communication should emphasize individual
people who can help as mentors, and places you can ask for help. I
strongly believe in including names + contact info for people who are
willing to be mentors for newcomers and to answer newbie questions
(patience is a good quality to have for this role).

== Connect good ideas for collaboration

I like posters and shout-outs (especially on social media). Some of
these ideas are related to Marketing Team responsibilities. Bringing new
contributors and these ideas to the Marketing Team may also help them
build up more contributors. And I think that is a main goal of the Join
SIG: to connect new people and their ideas to the teams that can support
them.

Including the Marketing Team in this discussion cannot hurt.

== Highlight existing contribution opportunities

There are tons of things to do in Fedora, but sometimes the hardest part
is finding them (or figuring out where in Fedora to bring a Cool New
Idea). I think the Join SIG can help highlight these opportunities and
connect new people to those opportunities.

This could be an interesting thing to include in an automated email /
introduction (e.g. it could be a link to a wiki page where Join SIG
members update different contribution opportunities month-to-month).

These are some of my thoughts after reading through the PDF. I hope the
feedback is useful. Thanks again Hesam for taking the lead here.
