I'm doing so and I find Gthumb and Gwenview as good alternatives. Photos is unusable. F-Spot isn't available in Fedora (any reasons…?).
So I'll write a bit about their features and differences with Shotwell and between them.
Then a couple of screenshots and it's done.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Seeing as how Charles has a lot going on right now, that would be awesome if you could work on this article too. I'm not as familiar with these programs so it would be fantastic if you did some research on good alternatives. :)
