Hey Matt, I think that the default excerpts is set at the first 55 words, and I don't think that we can raise it (check the index.php file in the editor under the appearance tab). Although we are able to make our own excerpts (short summaries) when writting a post, and make it as lengthy as we want it. That way the excerpts can be really informative. But not all wp themes support that feature (write your own excerpt) What do you guys think?
