It's often misunderstood from Red Hat's announcements wrt this that they have killed any desktop product. This is simply untrue. Repeat after me: RED HAT IS NOT ABANDONING THE DESKTOP! What they *have* abandoned, however, is the notion that they can compete in the consumer desktop space. This was quite a sound business decision on their part, IMHO.
