It also makes a great icon. I like the icon, but I'm not convinced that the icon or the concept quite fit. I associate Fedora more with innovation, forethought, design and care, rather than vastness (in the amount of software, or flexibility), or specifically with "freedom". There is already a "Universal Operating System" (with a nice swirl logo and a well-known emphasis on Freedom), and ultimate flexibility would perhaps be a Gentoo motto.
